Welcome To The WARP Anime Podcast Archive

November 14th, 2012

Welcome to the archive for the Weekly Anime Review Podcast (AKA, The WARP Anime Podcast).  While the podcast has been done for quite sometime, I still find many people are looking for old episodes.  So here they all are for your listening pleasure.  Relive these old days of podcasting before iTunes supported them, and not everyone was trying to turn this hobby into a career.  The show notes are presented in their original form for posterity, so there is a good chance that not all of them still work. :)

I really haven’t been up to much since I ended WARP.  But you can check out my (mostly inactive) blog schnuth.com, and listen to the handful of Schnuthcasts Diana and I recorded a few years back.  You can also see what I’m doing on Twitter and Instagram.  Thanks for stopping by, and I hope you enjoy these old shows.

Episode 72 – Providence Anime Conference 2008

October 7th, 2008

It’s been quite awhile since we’ve done a con report, so here we are live from our hotel room at the Providence Anime Conference.  PAC took place October 3 – 5, 2008 at the Rhode Island Convention Center in Providence, RI.  This was the first ever 21 and over anime convention, and we were there to witness it first hand.  If you want to see the photos from the con be sure to check out Diana’s Flickr page.  It was a great convention and we had a blast.  I really hope to see more cons like this in the future.  Thanks for listening!

Episode 71 – Six Months Later…

September 27th, 2008

This episode fueled by podcaster guilt.  Yep that’s right, after six months I finally put out a new show.  In this episode we catch up with what I’ve been doing and not been doing (like podcasting), and check out all the crazy voicemail that has been hanging out in my InBox.  Then John gives us his interesting perspectives on Death Note and Kingdom Hearts.  All this and more in this episode of the WARP Anime Podcast!

Topics include but are not limited to:

  1. schnuth.com – my crappy blog.
  2. Anime Punch – sure it was last April, but it was a killer con.
  3. Providence Anime Conference – I’ll be there, will you?
  4. Toys N Joys – awesome anime/game/otaku shop in Hawaii.
  5. Okonomiyaki Chibo Restaurant – This place ruled.
  6. Big Lots – cheap anime boxsets at discount prices!
  7. EvaOtaku.com – a great Evangelion website.
  8. EvaGeeks.org – another great Evangelion website.
  9. GoDisscusions.com – a forum all about the game of Go.
  10. The KGS Go Server – play Go against people online.
  11. GoProblems.com – Practice life & death Go problems to get stronger.
  12. Happy House Of Hentai – you should really listen to this podcast.

Intro clip: MC Chris – “Magic” from the album MC Chris Is Dead.
Intro Music:  The PenPals – “Tell Me Why” opening theme from Berserk.

That does it for this time.  Hopefully the next episode will be out sooner then this one.  Thanks for staying subscribed!

Episode 70 – Town Of Evening Calm, Country Of Cherry Blossoms

April 9th, 2008

This episode I take a look at the manga Town Of Evening Calm, Country Of Cherry Blossoms. Joining me on the review is Eeeper of the Eeeper’s Choice Podcast. Eeeper actually sent me this manga in to review, and is a good example of how to get me to review something. :) It’s a great manga, and seems to be overlooked like most great manga these days. Enjoy the review!

March 1st, 2008

This episode I do what most lazy unprepared podcasters do, read your e-mail! I’ve been playing a lot of voicemail lately and have been neglecting all your great e-mail, so we start correcting that in this episode. Don’t forget to keep those e-mails and voicemails coming in, I always love to hear from you. The voicemail number is 206-339-9277 in case you forgot.

February 16th, 2008

This episode I take a look at the awesome Japanese reality video game show, Game Center CX. Even though it’s not anime I still highly recommend it. Highly entertaining, even if your not a fan of old Nintendo games. But everyone loves old Nintendo games right? I also talk about the state of the podcast, some anime news, and of course your voicemail. Don’t forget to call those in at 206-339-9277!

Episode 67 – Wings Of Honneamise

January 22nd, 2008

This week I review the awesome classic anime film Royal Space Force: Wings Of Honneamise. It’s a fantastic film, but it’s too bad that Bandai Visual is charging an arm and a leg for the DVD. I also look at some otaku news, and catch up on e-mails and voicemails. Don’t forget to leave a voicemail at 206-339-9277 and get on the podcast. See you next time!

Episode 65 – Project X: Seven Eleven

January 4th, 2008

This episode I finally get around to reviewing a manga. I kept promising to do it and this week I make good when I take a look at Project X Challengers: Seven Eleven. I also share my thoughts and reactions about the conclusion of the second season of Genshiken and the first episode of Macross Frontier. Did I also mention that if you listen closely you could win your very own Dragonball Z Blu-Ray movie? It doesn’t get much better then this.
